Councillors will use more than a thousand survey responses to make a decision on the future of parking meters in central Horsham.

There were 1810 responses from the general community and 73 from local businesses when the survey closed this week.

HRCC staff will now review all submissions, with councillors set to consider the feedback and make a final decision of future CBD parking arrangements and whether there will be meters or not  by 30 June 2025.

The survey invited residents, visitors, and business owners to share their experiences during the meter-free period, aiming to gauge changes in convenience, accessibility, and parking behaviour around the central business district.

Mayor Cr Ian Ross said Council was pleased with the level of engagement which included not only locals but also people from surrounding towns who regularly travel to Horsham for shopping, services, and appointments.

“This gives us a strong foundation to make an informed decision about the future parking arrangements in our city centre,” he said.
