Funding Strategy for City Oval
Council adopted a funding strategy for the remaining component of the City Oval Redevelopment Stage 1 project at their meeting held on 24 June. The remaining works include a community facility, AFL compliant change rooms, Ticket boxes, food kiosk and landscaping of the north-west entrance to the City Oval.
The total budget for this project is $9.6million. Council agreed to make application to the Federal Government Growing Regions Fund (Round 1) for a maximum grant of $4.8million and allocate matching Council funding of $4.8million through the Capital Expenditure budget for the 2023/24 and 2024/25 financial years.
The funding of this project will ensure that Stage 1 is completed, with funding already received for the redevelopment of Netball facilities and the construction of a major events stage at the oval.
The redeveloped precinct will provide modern, accessible facilities for our community for the next 40+ years.
