Faster broadband a boost for Horsham businesses

Mayor Mark Radford attended the launch of the Victorian Government’s enhanced broadband project for Horsham on Thursday.
Funded by the Victorian Government, the fixed-wireless service will cover all of Horsham including the CBD, Horsham enterprise park, aerodrome and freight terminal with speeds up to one gigabit per second in both directions.
Minister for Regional Development Jaclyn Symes officially launched the network at machinery business Emmetts.
Emmetts is one of the first businesses to sign up to Spirit’s new broadband network. It now has dramatically faster broadband speeds with fewer dropouts, boosting their business across regional Victoria and beyond.
These speeds will also be available to homes across Horsham, giving residents the chance to experience internet services on par with those in metropolitan Melbourne and interstate.
“With the availability of 5G enhanced broadband for local business in Horsham, thanks to a State Government grant, the opportunities for existing businesses or people considering relocating a business from a large capital city are endless,” Cr Radford said.
