Horsham community takes the lead on bypass planning

The group which brings together residents, farmers, and business owners from across Horsham, held its fourth meeting on 19 August 2026, focusing on how a bypass corridor should be chosen. Its task is to recommend the community's preferred corridor for a bypass, judged from a local and community perspective.

Nine councils: $1.3 million advocacy win for regional readiness

Since early 2026, the Northwest 9 council alliance has worked collectively to ensure governments understand both the challenges and opportunities facing communities at the centre of Victoria's renewable energy transition and critical minerals development. That advocacy culminated in the release of the Resource Ready: North-Western Victoria Energy & Mining Impact and Readiness Strategy.

Council backs key advocacy priorities for rural Victoria

The motions, endorsed at this week's Council meeting, focus on improving access to mental health services, securing water for recreational lakes, increasing funding for integrated water projects and strengthening communications during emergencies.
