The Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 requires particular Health premises to be registered with Council and meet the Public Health and Wellbeing Regulations 2009.

The Health guidelines for personal care and body art industries is a good guide on how to set up a health premises and gives some valuable information of specific processes and the risks involved. This guide can be found on the Department of Health website.
It is Important to note depending on the type of business and the changes you may be making you may also need to contact Councils Building and Planning Departments to obtain other relevant permits.
Please contact the Environmental Health Officer if you wish to register a new Registered Health Premises.
If you are purchasing an existing premise you will need a Transfer Inspection conducted to ensure that the premise complies with the Regulations. Council requires a written request for a Transfer inspection from the new proprietor. Please see the following link to download the Transfer of Registration form
