Council has commenced preparation of a new waste strategy. This will address a broad range of issues including bin sizes and collection frequency, hard waste, green waste and recycling services in rural and urban areas, operations of transfer stations, and more. A Steering Committee has now met twice to start this work. The steering committee meets approximately monthly to develop the details of the engagement process to capture the community’s views regarding the waste strategy, identify and assess options for changes to the provision of waste services, and through this, assist in the development of the draft strategy to present to Council.
