Animals & Livestock > Lost & Found
Finding lost or missing pets is difficult. Often the animal is frightened, disoriented, unsure of where they are or how they got there. Having your pet registered, microchipped, and having identification tags on your pet's collar, gives you the highest probability that your lost pet will be returned to you.
To report your animal as lost, contact Council as soon as possible on 5382 9777 or Council's Ranger on 0409 944 033 to record your animal on Council's lost, found or impounded register. The register is updated regularly and includes details of all animals which have been notified to Council as being lost, found or impounded.
Please note: If you have reported your animal as lost and it has been found, don't forget to contact Council's Ranger on 0409 944 033, to remove your animal's details from the register.
Reminder: All dogs and cats, three months of age and over, must be microchipped and registered with Council by 10 April each year. Owners will be fined if they are found to have unregistered animals at their property.
In some cases, Council posts lost animals on its Facebook Page.
